Applications
forms the grants are to be submitted to the Malta Resources
Authority within 3 months from the date of purchase of the
equipment or products.
The following
documents should be submitted with the application when
applying for grants on:
Electric
vehicles:
-
A copy of
the Identity card of the applicant.
-
A copy of
the vehicle logbook.
-
A copy of
the driving license of the applicant.
-
The
original fiscal receipt of the purchase of the
electric-powered car.
Details of the grant may be
obtained from Government
Notice 203 of 2005. Electric-powered cars may qualify
for a grant of 15.25% on the purchase price of the car subject
to a maximum grant of € 1164.69 (Lm500).
Solar
photovoltaic systems:
-
A copy of the Identity card of
the applicant.
-
The original fiscal receipt of
the purchased equipment.
-
An official document bearing
the suppliers letterhead, listing the technical details of
the equipment.
-
A certificate endorsed by an
electrical engineer, confirming the technical details of the
purchased and installed equipment.
-
A copy of the notification form
submitted to the MRA or a copy of the authorisation to
install and operate the solar PV system (as applicable).
-
A statement from Enemalta
Corporation confirming that the purchased and installed
photovoltaic system was connected to the national
electricity grid.
-
A copy of the development
permit or MEPA's response to a development notification (as
and where applicable) regarding the installation of
the photovoltaic system and a declaration by the applicant
that the system has been installed in line with existing
development policy and control guidelines and
development permission requirements.

Notice 135 of 2006. Solar PV installations on domestic
premises may qualify for a
grant of 20%
on the purchase price of the installation with a minimum size of
1 kWp and less than 3.7 kWp. This grant is subject to a maximum
of € 1164.69 (Lm 500) with an additional grant of € 582.34 (Lm 250)
for every additional
installed kilowatt
peak, plus or minus five per cent (1kWp+/-5%), subject to a
total maximum input power of 3.7 kilowatt peak (3.7kWp).
Fractions of a kilowatt peak installed additionally above the
minimum of one kilowatt peak(1kWp) are treated pro rata.
Wind turbine systems:

A copy of
the Identity
card
of
the applicant.
-
The
original fiscal receipt of the purchased equipment.
-
An official
document bearing the suppliers letterhead, listing the
technical details of the equipment.
-
A
certificate endorsed by an electrical engineer, certifying
that the system purchased is a wind turbine for domestic
use.
-
A copy of the notification form
submitted to the MRA or a copy of the authorisation to
install and operate the solar PV system (as applicable).
-
A statement from Enemalta
Corporation
confirming that the purchased and installed wind turbine was
connected with the national electricity grid.
-
A copy of the development
permit or MEPA's response to a development notification (as
and where applicable) regarding the installation of the wind
turbine system and a declaration by the applicant that the
system has been installed in line with existing development
policy and control guidelines and development
permission requirements.

Notice 136 of 2006. Micro wind turbines installed on
domestic premises may qualify for a
grant of 25%
on the purchase price of microwind systems (with a maximum
generation capacity of 3.7 kW) and subject to a maximum of € 232.94
(Lm 100).
Solar water heaters:
-
A copy of
the Identity card of the applicant.

The
original fiscal receipt of the purchase of the purchased
equipment.
-
An official
document bearing the supplier's letterhead, listing the
technical details of the solar water heaters.
-
A copy of the development
permit or MEPA's response to a development notification (as
and where applicable) regarding the installation of the
solar water heater and a declaration by the applicant that
the system has been installed in line with existing
development policy and control guidelines and development
permission requirements.

amending GN 203 of 2005. Solar water heaters installed on
domestic premises may qualify for a
grant of 25%
on the purchase price and subject to a maximum of € 232.94
(Lm 100).
Enemalta
Corporation also has a refund scheme on the meter installation
costs for domestic consumers installing solar water heaters.

Roof thermal insulation:
-
A copy of
the Identity card of the applicant.
-
The
original fiscal receipt of the purchase of the roof thermal
insulation material.
-
An official
document bearing the supplier’s letter head, listing the
physical and chemical details of the purchased roof thermal
insulation material, and name and Identity card number of
purchaser/applicant the physical and chemical details of the
roof thermal insulation material.
-
A
certificate endorsed by a warranted architect certifying
that the material purchased is roof thermal insulation
material, that such roof thermal material was applied to the
roof of the applicant’s residence as indicated in this
application form, and which certificate specifies also the
u-value that such a thermal insulation material provides
when it is applied to the roof.
