Energy sector licences, permits, authorisations and notifications

MRA currently issues the following licences, permits, authorisations and notifications in the energy sector.

Note:   

Whilst reminding interested parties that the Malta Resources Authority is still receiving applications in respect of:

 1.    An Authorisation to carry out the activity of an importer and or wholesaler of petroleum; and

2.     An Authorisation to operate a primary storage facility

 

it  would like to point out that the applications have been slightly modified as follows:

 

At the end of the two applications the following has been added:

 

“In the compilation of the above documents, the applicant is to ensure that the criteria listed in regulation 13 of LN278/2007 (Conditions relating to granting and renewal of Authorisations) are addressed.

 

The Malta Resources Authority will issue an authorisation to the applicant upon a full and correct submittal of this application and where compliance with the criteria in Regulation 13 (if applicable) exists.”

 

This above mentioned change was included in order to clarify the criteria being followed by the Malta Resources Authority in the issuing of any of the above mentioned Authorisations.

 

All efforts will be made to ensure an expeditious consideration of the licence applications.

 

Stakeholders, market operators and members of the general public are invited to direct any query regarding the liberalisation programme to the Authority:

  • by regular post to the Malta Resources Authority, Millennia, Aldo Moro Road, Marsa MRS 9065, Malta.

 

Officials of the Authority are available to meet with potential operators to clarify any queries that may arise.
