The Malta Resources Authority launched a scheme aiming to encourage the use of systems for
domestic use that reduce the consumption of energy or those
systems that make use of renewable sources of energy. The scheme
was in line with the
Budget 2009 and applies to solar water heaters, photovoltaic
panels, roof thermal insulation material and double glazed
windows or doors.
Solar water heating
systems where only the solar water collectors
(EN12975) were registered under the 2009 scheme were
eligible only if the collectors were in stock up to
the 31 October 2009, as confirmed by a list of solar
water collector serial numbers submitted by
retailers.
