2010 Support Schemes - solar water heaters, solar collectors and photovoltaic panels

 

 

 

Information for customers

In order to further encourage the use of renewable sources of energy for domestic use, the following Incentive Schemes have been launched. The schemes are part financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

 

Photovoltaic systems - 2nd Call - 2010 

 
This scheme is regulated by Notice published in the Government Gazette of 22nd July 2010.

Part A of  the application for the grant which must be filled in by the Applicant PRIOR to the purchase of the technology and must be accompanied by the relevant Annex I and Annex II (detailed quotation from supplier) to part A.

Part B is the request for reimbursement which must be completed by the Applicant AFTER the purchase (including payment, installation and commissioning of the equipment) and must be accompanied by Annex I of Part B which has to be completed by a warranted engineer.

Payments (including deposit) can only be made by bank transfer, and dated after the receipt of the grant offer.

It is important that Applications (Part A (Application for Grant) and Part B (request for Reimbursement) are to be deposited personally by the Applicant or by an adult member residing in the same household of the Applicant at MRA offices or, for Gozo residents, at: MEUSAC Offices, The Brokerage, Level 2, Triq Santa Martha, Victoria, Gozo (site corner with Flamingo Bar). Applications may also be sent by mail to the Malta Resources Authority, Millennia, 2nd Floor, Aldo Moro Road, Marsa, MRS 9065.    

Applications by retailers will not be accepted.

Part A will be processed and available funds shall be allocated, in accordance with the Guidelines.

ERRATA CORRIGE

1. Guidelines Section 4, Eligible costs, paragraph 2. The sentence " For this reason we will not process applications where the inverter nominal power is between 0.8 and 1.2 times the array nominal power." shall be replaced with "For this reason we will only process applications where the inverter nominal power is between 0.8 and 1.2 times the array nominal power."

SWH / SWC - Solar water heaters and collectors

 

Applicants need to apply prior to purchasing the eligible systems. The Malta Resources Authority will issue a grant offer letter confirming that the applicants and their chosen equipment are eligible for the scheme. The systems have to be installed within four months of the grant offer letter. Part III of the application form together with the required documents must be sent after the installation is complete and within the four months mentioned in the grant offer letter.
